(6x75cl) 2011Vinous (87-90)
Good medium-dark red with ruby highlights. Tight nose offers blackberry, violet, menthol and a touch of oak spice (Philippe Drouhin finds this too oaky). The palate offers good richness and breadth, with dark berry flavors showing an element of finesse. Finishes with building oak tannins.Inc. VAT£486.80 -
Vinous (89-91)
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Procès 1er Cru felt a little gawky on the nose when I tasted the cask sample. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant sharpness on the entry, delivering firm grip and a saline finish that lingers in the mouth. Give this a couple of years in bottle.Inc. VAT£491.60 -

Vinous (88-90)
The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Village has a tightly wound, earthy bouquet that needs to knit together a little more during the remainder of its élevage. The palate has a pleasant sharpness on the entry. There is admirable tension here, especially for a Village Cru, though the cohesive, lightly spiced finish deserves a better set of aromatics (at least at the moment). One to watch once in bottle.Inc. Vinous (92+)
Pale, bright yellow. High-pitched aromas of orange peel and tangerine lifted by bright floral and crushed stone qualities. Highly concentrated, supple and chewy, conveying an impression of power to its lemon, orange, floral and mineral flavors. Sappy, silky, rich wine with an enticing touch of sweetness countered by firm acidity. Frederic Drouhin suggests pairing this wine with poulet au citron or seafood linguine.Inc. VAT£1,455.64 -
(6x75cl) 2018Jancis Robinson (16.5)
Creamy, rich aroma of deep lees, giving a savoury quality to the ripe and piercing bright citrus fruit. Mouth-filling and quite spicy, not as rich in the middle as I expected from the nose but long and stony on the finish.Inc. VAT£715.24 -

Burghound (93)
Cool and pure aromas are comprised of notes of honeysuckle, white peach and a whiff of fennel. The natural refinement of Pucelles is on display as the medium-bodied flavors are at once rich and sophisticated while delivering impressive depth and length on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This classy effort should easily repay up to a decade of keeping. Sweet Spot. Outstanding. Drink 2027+.Inc. VAT£935.52 -

Burghound (93)
A ripe if highly restrained mix of red and blue fruit is liberally sprinkled with spice and floral notes. There is good volume and solid mid-palate density to the seductively delicious big-bodied flavors that are shaped by a phenolically mature tannic spine, all wrapped in a mildly rustic but highly persistent mineral-inflected finish. Note well that this muscular and robust effort is definitely going to need at least 7 to 8 years of keeping and require 15+, perhaps even slightly more.Inc. VAT£723.12 -
Vinous (91-93)
The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru comes from three lieux-dits: Les Charmes, Les Petits-Monts and Aux Malconsorts. It has a very composed bouquet of ample ripe raspberry, crushed strawberry, veins of blue fruit and a touch of crushed stone. The palate is well balanced with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity. A light oyster shell note pokes up toward the harmonious, velvety finish. This is going to be very seductive.Inc. VAT£715.92
