The 2018 Meursault Village opens in the glass with notes of crisp Anjou pear, white flowers, mandarin oil, bread dough and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's lively and precise, with a delicate but tightly wound core and a bright, mineral finish. As usual, this cuvée derives from two lieux-dits: En l'Ormeau on the plain (which is also the source of Ente's Clos des Ambres and Sève du Clos bottlings) and Les Casse-Têtes on the hillside, the vines having been planted in 1952-1953 and 1998, respectively.Inc. Ente’s 2010 Meursault Le Clos des Ambres is impeccable. It is also quite closed in on itself. Today, it is the minerality that dominates, but there is no denying the wine’s pedigree and sheer class. Sexy aromas of citrus fruits, oatmeal and smoke. Sweetly spicy in the mouth, with a ripe peach flavor and a seductively supple texture. Very good acidity frames the fruit and extends the finish. (Two other Meursaults were considerably more difficult to taste: A village wine, simply labeled Meursault, was plagued by mercaptan, and despite offering sexy hazelnut and oatmeal flavors and harmonious acidity was impossible to judge. And a Meursault Les Narvaux showed a resiny aroma of Calvados. Madame Bize said the wine was simply too young, and I suppose it's possible that it was going through an oxidative stage.)Inc. Bright pale yellow. Pure, lively lemon and pineapple aromas. At once silky and citrussy, offering lovely finesse and inner-mouth perfume to its flavors of lemon and white flowers. Harmonious acidity gives shape and sappiness to this opulent wine. Very long on the aftertaste. The Petits Charrons and Puligny Referts never give much crop due to millerandage, notes Ente. An uncommonly refined village wine.In Bond£2,223.71 -

This was a fabulous vintage chez Ente, and from magnum the 2011 Meursault Les Petits Charrons is superb, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of citrus zest, preserved lemon, wheat toast and pear, framed by a light touch of reduction. On the palate, the wine is medium-full, sapid and intense, with a deep core, succulent acids and terrific tension through the long, lingering finish. While this is drinking beautifully already, it has the structure and energy to develop for another decade at the very least. In Bond£2,764.95 -

Madame Bize said the wine was simply too young, and I suppose it's possible that it was going through an oxidative stage.)In Bond£7,269.00 -
