There is a touch of phenolic character (think olive oil nuances) lurking in the background of the ripe aromas of pear, apple and citrus confit with just enough typicity to be interesting. There is better volume to the slightly richer medium weight flavors that possess a seductive mouthfeel and an equally refreshing finish that, by contrast, comes up somewhat short. Some light green reflections in the primrose yellow colour. A stricter nose, perhaps a touch of sulphur. This may also appear more backward coming after the Charmes. Then a vast wealth of fruit on the palate and now we see the real wine. It maintains the herbal note I associate with Genevrières, alongside golden fruit at a perfect degree of ripeness. The fruit and the acidity weave in and out of each other. I would not want the fruit to be riper but it is full of charm as it stands, and kept in place by the precision of the structure. Very fine. The 2021 Chablis Beauroy 1er Cru has a taut and mineral-driven bouquet, understated at first but opening nicely with aeration. The palate has a smooth texture, slightly viscous and certainly one of the spiciest Beauroy that I have tasted from Tribut in bottle. Quite lively, fanning out nicely towards the finish. This is an excellent Beauroy that should repay maturation in bottle. In Bond£80.00 -
