Vinous (95)

Alluring nose combines lemon, lime, crushed rock and a sexy leesy element. Dense and thick but with terrific mineral spine and energy to its flavors of citrus fruits and white flowers. Great unmistakable Burgundy funk here. Moreau told me that this wine is fairly low in acidity but its saline minerality nonetheless gives it a penetrating quality. Mounts slowly and stains the palate on the very long aftertaste. Superb wild, musky wine with unexpected precision. Deceptively tasteable early on, as Chevalier-Montrachet can be, but lay this one down.

Wine Advocate (90-92)

The 2016 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly, which was taken from tank and fined, has quite a powerful, well-defined, lemon zest and walnut-scented bouquet that just springs from the glass. The palate is well defined with hints of blackcurrant complementing the malic fruit, with a touch of spiciness coming through on the finish. Very fine—one of the best from Alex Moreau this year.

Burghound (88)

(from Sur le Clos). A fruit, bright and citrusy nose offers good typicity in the form of sea breeze, algae and iodine. There is good density and reasonably good energy to the round and delicious flavors that terminate in an agreeably dry lemon-tinged finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth. This should drink well young but a year or two of keeping should help to add depth.
