  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Brut 2011 (1x150cl)

    Vinous (93)

The 2011 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses is bright and perfumed, with lovely Chardonnay energy driving the citrus, floral and savory notes. In 2011, Clos des Goisses is a touch lithe, but its balance is simply impeccable. Given the challenges of the year, I would not push my luck on aging. If there is one wine I would be willing to bet on, at least for the medium term, it is Clos des Goisses. Dosage is 4.5 liters per gram.

The new release of this Champagne is impressively stylish. It comes from a vertiginous vineyard facing north across the Marne river, the soil producing a wine with intense minerality and texture that demands time to soften. • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Brut 2014 (1x300cl)

    The Wine Independent (97+)

The Philipponnat Clos des Goisses 14 is a classic, somewhat yesteryear style of Clos des Goisses that is a blend of 71% Pinot Noir and 29% Chardonnay coming from 14 different small parcels each vinified separately with only the best, ripest elements included in the final blend. None of the wines underwent malolactic to retain freshness and it was finished Extra Brut with a 4.5 gram per liter dosage. Ethereal, floral notes of white viburnum waft over layers of ripe red apple, lemon butter biscuits, almond nougat, clover honey and toast then flow into a medium to full-bodied palate infused with a high-gloss, vibrant acidity shining a Klieg light of freshness on pure red berry fruit and citrus intensity. There is an ease of elegance throughout, and incredible length on the creamy finish. 20,000 bottles. Disgorged in March 2023 and finished with a 4.5 grams per liter dosage. 19984 Bottles produced.

  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Brut 2015 (1x150cl)

    Wine Advocate (97+)

Surpassing the 2010, the 2015 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses is gorgeous, evoking aromas of pear, mirabelle, spices, honey, brioche and perfectly ripe orchard fruits intertwined with delicate notes of iodine. Full-bodied, vinous and concentrated, it's layered and dense with remarkable depth at the core combined with racy acids and a structured, perfectly balanced mid-palate. Slightly austere at this stage, it finishes long and sappy with a licorice-inflected aftertaste. This blend of 78% Pinot Noir and 22% Chardonnay, disgorged in March 2024 with a dosage of 4.5 grams per liter, did not undergo malolactic fermentation. Readers eager to experience this superb Champagne at its peak should be patient.

  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2006 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

The 2006 Clos des Goisses Rosé is a deceptively powerful Champagne. Pale in color, as it always is, the 2006 Rosé packs a serious punch. Deep, exquisitely layered and persistent on the palate, the 2006 offers a compelling interplay of power and finesse. The Clos des Goisses Rosé is the same base as the Blanc, with the addition of 9% Pinot vinified with the saignée method (rather than still). This is one of the best versions of the Juste Rosé I have tasted. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter. Disgorged June 2016.

  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2008 (1x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (98+)

Disgorged in March 2019, the 2008 Extra Brut Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé is a fabulous forthcoming release from Philipponnat, opening in the glass with aromas of rose petals, warm bread, red berries, papaya and spices. On the palate, it's full-bodied, ample and layered, with an incisive spine of acidity, excellent concentration and a tight-knit core, concluding with a long, intense and chalky finish. This is still a very youthful, tensile rosé and patience will be required of anyone hoping to drink it at its peak of maturity.

  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2009 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

The 2009 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé is absolutely gorgeous. In 2009, the Juste Rosé has a bit more body and resonance than normal, which works so well here given that it can be a bit fleeting. Crushed red berries, mint, white pepper and chalk are some of the many aromas and flavors that race through this taut, finely sculpted Rosé from Philipponnat. The 2009 is beautifully done. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter.

  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2012 (3x75cl)

    Vinous (95)

The 2012 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé is a wild, exotic wine. Kirsch, white pepper, flowers, mint and cranberry lend a gorgeous air of exoticism. As always, the Rosé is light in body gracious and all finesse. The blend is 68% Pinot Noir and 32% Chardonnay. This is the first release made with a blend of what is essentially a Blanc de Noirs base, with the ‘still red’ portion (18%) coming from a saignée. Time in the glass brings out the breadth and natural texture of the year. This is a gorgeous Rosé from Philipponat. Disgorged: March, 2022.

    Wine Advocate (98)

Evoking aromas of strawberries, red berries, spices, papaya, rose petals and baked bread, the 2014 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses Juste Rosé is a stunning Champagne rosé. Full-bodied, vinous and layered, it's concentrated and has a structured mid-palate, racy acids and a long, mineral, dense finish. This blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay was disgorged in March 2024 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage, with only 2,820 bottles produced. Undoubtedly, this is a gastronomic Champagne that could age gracefully over the next 30 years or more.

    Vinous (96)

The 1996 Extra-Brut Clos des Goisses L.V. has reached a glorious peak of expression. Apricot, burnt sugar, spice, pastry, hazelnut and a whole range of reductive notes that have developed in bottle fill out the layers. In 1996, Clos des Goisses was still aged on cork (for both the original and L.V. releases. Over time, cork seems to given the 1996 an especially relaxed, resonant feel. Dosage is 4.5 grams per liter.

  • Philipponnat Clos des Goisses Juste Rose 2014 (3x75cl)

Champagne Bottles come in a array of sizes to suit all occasions. Larger bottles have a smaller wine to air ratio in the bottle, therefore ageing slower and lasting longer. Interestingly from the Jeroboam and upwards, bottle sizes take their names from ancient biblical kings.
