Very red fruit in character, in the style of the Chatelots, but with minerality accentuated by the wine's firm acidity. A bit tighter than usual for this cuvee, and developing slowly. Wine Advocate (91-93)
The 2014 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru les Beaux Bruns has a lilting nose of wild strawberry and redcurrant, nonchalant and precise, though not powerful in any way. The palate is elegant and fresh with crisp tannins, red merging into dark berry fruit towards the finish that is nicely structured, understated and with a faint marine influence. Bright red with ruby tones. Crushed black fruits and cherry on the nose, lifted by notes of mint, rock and orange zest. Pliant but firm wine with thickness, clarity and lift. Sappy flavors of medicinal dark cherry, spices and red licorice display excellent balance and depth. A strong performance for this cuvée, from a crop that was off by 50% due to the frost. The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Beaux Bruns 1er Cru has one of the most elegant bouquets from Ghislaine Barthod, offering beautiful, seductive red currant, crushed strawberry and crushed rose petal aromas. The palate is very well defined, with strict tannins framing dark berry fruit laced with soy and black pepper. A little introverted toward the finish. Very fine.In Bond£174.00
