Les Forts in the 2022 vintage is a blend of 58.7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37.9% Merlot and 3.4% Petit Verdot. This feels more classically Pauillac on the nose than the Pauillac de Château Latour, the dark and toasted fruits here intermingling with notes of cedar and sandalwood, along with perfumed white chalk and griottes. Full, open, broad and confident at the start it has substance but in a sinewy rather than muscular style, with fresh acids and a very finely knit core of tannins which start to envelop the wine through the midpalate.
