(1x75cl) 1990Indulge in the mastery of Marcel Juge's Cornas Cuvee C 1990. Revered as a cornerstone of French viniculture, this wine exudes the essence of the Rhône Valley. Winning renown for Juge's artisanal approach, this robust Syrah grape wine was crafted in Northern Rhône's Cornas commune, a region admired for producing full-bodied and age-worthy red wines. The complex palate of the Marcel Juge Cornas Cuvee C 1990 unfolds beautifully, permeated with notes of smoked meats, blackberry, and violet. Cradled in traditional ageing techniques using old oak, this wine showcases a unique, earthy expression of Cornas terroir. Pale smudgy garnet colour (and beautifully simple label). This wine is so pure and gorgeous! But gosh how the price has risen since I bought a case only a few vintages ago. It's a great advertisement for minimal intervention and purity. Direct fruit and not a trace of oak. Long and reverberant. Already drinkable but there is no hurry whatsoever. In Bond£185.00 -

This bottle of 2023 Morgon comes from the first bottling run completed in March 2024 (there will be five bottlings until September). Lapierre told me that this is destined for markets in Japan, Canada and a little for the US. The nose reveals dark berry fruit, sous-bois and light Indian ink aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins and crisp acidity, a little rustic in a good way with a slightly savory finish. Lovely. In Bond£127.00 -
