Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (88-91)
A blend from all the plots of Puligny except Charmes and Trézin. A pretty bouquet with some fresh citrus blossom on the nose, pure white fruit on the palate, which is on the broader side but with enough concentration to kick on nicely to a tasty finish. Very correct and quite accessible. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Oct 2024.Inc. VAT£108.25 -

Vinous (91)
The 2020 Mâcon La Roche Vineuse Vieilles Vignes, from 50 to 60-year old vines, was the first cuvée to be bottled this year. The nose has superior definition to the regular cuvée with green apple and granite. The palate is well balanced, very elegant with hints of ginger and blackberry leaf on the slightly honeyed finish. (1x75cl) 1996Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (87)
Very good red-ruby color. Wilder, somewhat rustic aromas of roasted plum and leather. Fat but vinous, with a strong leathery flavor. Rustic but rather full for this wine, and lush on the back end. No shortage of personality.Inc. VAT£53.05 -
(12x75cl) 2004Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (85-88)
(60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 10% cabernet franc) Bright ruby-red. Slightly reduced aromas of blackberry, black cherry, violet and licorice. Fairly dense if a bit chunky, with moderately sweet flavors of dark berries, licorice and shoe polish. Could use a bit more cut, but offers good fruit and texture, and finishes with reasonably sweet tannins.Inc. VAT£453.67 -
Wine Spectator (92-95)
Superb concentration, with spice, currant and berry character. Full and velvety. So long. At same quality level as the legendary 1955, or 1959. Score range: 92-95 -JSInc. VAT£398.64 -
Jane Anson Inside Bordeaux (94)
This was in a carafe for at least five hours before tasting, and is a good reminder that you should not be nervous to leave these in contact with oxygen - the architecture can easily hold the fruit. Pretty spicy overall, full of tannic grip, dark and plush plum and greengage fruits, sage, cinnamon and crayon. Delicious, such a great value wine, one of the 'open now' wines of the tasting, exactly what you hope for when heading towards this price point of wine, and so rarely get.Inc. VAT£493.90 -
