All Grenache, the 2022 Côtes Du Rhône Les Garrigues brings another level of purity and elegance. Kirsch, raspberries, flowery incense, and savory garrigue notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a supple, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.

Vinous (92)

Shimmering ruby color. Lively red and blue fruit and floral aromas are sharpened by a spicy suggestion of white pepper. Juicy and broad on the palate, offering appealingly sweet black raspberry and boysenberry flavors that become firmer on the back half. Supple, even tannins shape the finely etched, clinging finish, which leaves a suave floral note behind.

In the world of fine wines, the l'Anglore Vejade 2018 is indeed a splendid example. Produced by Eric Pfifferling in Tavel, Southern Rhône, this wine epitomises the region’s bounty. The organically farmed Grenache and Clairette vines, aged around 50 years, lend an unmatched quality to 2018's harvest. Whereas many choose to age their wines, Pfifferling insists on ageing his for six months in old barrels, preserving the wine's authentic taste and aroma.

The l'Anglore Vejade 2018 exemplifies a blend of lustrous ruby hues and deep fruit flavours, creating an authentic natural wine experience. The nose teases with notes of raspberry, violets and spices, leading into a well-structured palate. In the mouth, it is harmonious and radiant, showcasing its minerality and freshness alongside an impressive longevity.

As an addition to your collection or to enjoy with a sumptuous meal, the l'Anglore Vejade 2018 truly encapsulates the art of exquisite winemaking.

Brilliant ruby. Deep-pitched cherry, dark berry and lavender pastille scents show excellent clarity and a vibrant mineral quality. Sappy, concentrated and focused on the palate, offering juicy black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors in a suave marriage of power and tension. Supple tannins build slowly on a long, smoke- and spice-tinged finish that emphatically echoes the floral note.

(made from two-thirds grenache and one-third syrah): Opaque ruby. Heady scents of red berry preserves, lavender, anise and sandalwood, lifted by a peppery topnote. Offers intense, palate-staining raspberry and cherry-cola flavors that gain weight with air. Impressively lively and pure on the persistent finish, which features gentle tannins and a late note of bitter chocolate.

The NV Côtes du Rhône S.M. is thrilling stuff. Made from equal parts Grenache and Syrah and aged half in concrete and half in barrel, it offers a full-bodied, voluptuous and decadent style to go with overflowing notes of plum and darker fruits, licorice and violets. Gorgeous on all counts, it’s a shockingly good Côtes du Rhône to drink over the coming 4-6 years, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it last even longer.

By far the biggest production in the Rhone valley, with vineyards stretching from North to South, in a whole range of styles. These wines represent excellent value for everyday drinking, though there are certainly some special occasion wines to be found as well. Plummy and berry fruits, spice, liquorice and herbes de Provence are typical aromas.
