Gosset's 2004 Extra Brut Celebris is a powerful, bracing wine. Pinot Noir-infused red stone fruits, dried leaves, mint, herbs and spice notes, along with the low dosage, give the wine its distinctive combination of power, breadth and raciness. The 2004 needs a bit of time for the bouquet to open up, but when they do, the wine is quite expressive. Now 12 years after the vintage, the 2004 Celebris offers a good bit of aromatic and flavor intensity, with the slightly mature notes that are typical for a wine of this age. Chamomile, honey and lightly roasted almond are some of the nuances that linger through to the creamy, expansive finish. The 2005 is 55% Chardonnay (from Chouilly, Cramant and Le Mesnil sur Oger) and 45% Pinot Noir (from Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzy).In Bond£468.00 -

The 2007 Extra-Brut Vintage Celebris is a great example of the house style. Powerful and rich, the 2007 possesses tremendous vinous intensity, buffered by low dosage that gives the wine ts sense if classic austerity. The nose of the golden wine immediately radiates creaminess, a soft richness that is reminiscent of freshly baked apricot and almond tart and red apple flesh, laced with fine, heady notions of freshly zested Tarocco orange peel. The palate is as creamy as the nose suggests, yet has the poise and the beautiful, salty depth of 2008. A lovely phenolic edge reminds of bitter almond and apple pip, this sits well with the sinuous, toned and lightly salty richness, the ultra-fine mousse and that lovely streak of ripe lemon zest. The citrus-yellow Gosset NV Extra-Brut (dosage: five grams per liter) is an assemblage of Chardonnay (32%), Pinot Noir (45%) and Pinot Meunier (23%) sourced in 11 villages. This is a deliciously lithe, fresh, elegant, well-structured and creamy-textured cuvée with charmingly round fruit and stimulating mineral grip in the pure, fresh, super precise and delicate finish.
