Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (87-88)Now in tank, being fined. Pale lemon colour. Perfumed nose with a little sandalwood. Fresh plums, lots of energy, light youthful bitterness which will come out with the fining, very long finish for this level of appellation. Picked at the end after a few days gap. Tasted: December 2021 |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-93)The last vintage of this contract. Medium to deep purple. Some tension in the nose. A fine concentration of a dark raspberry and cherry fruit, with good acidity through the middle, and fair length at the back. Medium term ageing, I suspect. Drink from 2031-2038. Tasted: December 2023. |

Decanter (97)The Méo section of the Clos is extremely well placed: the majority is in Chioures, near the top. Lavalle referred to this as ‘Musigny-Chioures,' a testament to its ability to combine elegance and finesse with power and depth of flavour. The fruit is all destemmed and fermented on native yeasts in concrete, with extraction by a gentle combination of pumping over and punching down. There is a bit more presence than the Lamarche, with vibrancy and tension, yet the wine makes a stunning impression with a lovely purity of red and black fruit and incredibly silky texture. |

Vinous (95-97)The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is quite closed on the nose, offering discreet blackberry, raspberry and light violet aromas that you might mistake for a Vosne-Romanée. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins. This is a juicy Clos de Vougeot, a little savory and quite peppery on the finish, which you might misconstrue as a result of some stem addition. Sculpted with Jean-Nicolas Méo's finest chisel, this is a wonderful Clos de Vougeot. |

Tim Atkin MW (96)With 3 hectares, M o-Camuzet is the second largest proprietor in this Grand Cru after Ch teau de la Tour. There's a good chunk near the ch teau as well as a smaller part in Le Grand Maupertui. The 80% new oak stands out now, both with toasted spice lift and lightly grainy tannins. Granted, there's no rush; at the domaine, they don't start drinking this until eight years post-vintage. In time, the robust and concentrated black fruit core will easily absorb the wood. 2028-45 |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-97)Apart from 2017, Jean-Nicolas Méo only makes one commercially available cuvée of his substantial holding of Clos de Vougeot. Even purple throughout. This is a sturdy, weighty, richly dark fruited, multi-layered wine, with great potential for the long term. Ripe but not exaggerated. Tasted: December 2021. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2018 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru is deep in color and sports a more opulent and dense bouquet than the Corton-Perrières; the black cherry, cassis and violet aromas are very seductive and generous at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, quite saturated tannins, and sweet and candied in style, offering dark cherries and allspice toward the finish. Fine. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2020 Corton Clos Rognet Grand Cru has a little more precision on the nose than the Corton-Perrières, focused and quite energetic. The palate is medium-bodied with more strictness, quite serious with wonderful tension on the finish. This builds marvellously in the mouth. Do not overlook this excellent Corton. |

Burghound (92-95)Here too there is enough reduction to render the nose impossible to properly read. The sleek and beautifully concentrated flavors are filled with both fine detail and underlying tension, all wrapped in a moderately austere, complex and strikingly long finale. Excellent potential. |
