Vinous (93)The 2018 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has an intriguing bouquet of dark cherries, bergamot and cassis, retaining the opulent aromatics that I noted last year. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, and quite closed at the moment, with a mineral-driven finish. This will certainly need 4–5 years to open, but there is good potential for this sturdy Clos Vougeot. |

Vinous (93-95)The 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from the Les Baudes Bas lieu-dit, enclosed within the Louis Jadot parcel where the soils are particularly clayey. It has a very aromatic and floral bouquet featuring bunches of red roses and peony. Wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. This is very smooth and silky. Not a deep Clos Vougeot, nor is there a tremendous amount of grip, yet it feels long and tender on the finish, which lingers in the mouth. Superb. |

The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine weight, slightly granular in texture with good concentration and structure towards the persistent finish. This has pedigree. |

The palate is well balanced with a pleasant rondeur on the entry. Maybe a little higher in pH than its peers, smooth and pliant for a Corton, this fans out gently and reassuringly on the finish. Despite its Grand Cru status, this should be pleasurable in its youth. |

The palate is well balanced with crunchy red berry fruit laced with a splash of balsamic. The parcels ripened at different times due to variations in microclimates, and that engenders a more complex Pommard. Fine salinity toward the finish, and a minerally aftertaste. Very fine. |
