Burghound (92)(the blend has now changed from 50/50 to two-thirds/one-third in the climats of Les Rouges du Bas and Les Quartiers de Nuits; 15% whole cluster vinification). A slightly cooler though still ripe nose blends notes of both red and dark berries and a wonderful array of spice elements. There is excellent verve and freshness on the palate of the sleek, refined and focused medium-bodied flavors that aren’t especially dense but do flash focused power on the dusty, compact and serious finale where a touch of warmth slowly emerges. Fine if not exceptional development potential here and I particularly like the sophisticated texture. |

Vinous - Stephen Tanzer (92-94)Bright, deep red. Tangy red cherry and raspberry aromas are complicated by high-pitched spices, flowers and crushed rock. Sweet, bright and penetrating, but with good supple density giving a seamless texture to the middle palate. In fact, this is quite creamy for the vintage, in spite of its brisk acidity. Spreads out nicely to coat the mouth on the long, perfumed, gripping aftertaste. A terrific vintage for this cuvee. |

Vinous (93)The 2011 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes is absolutely impeccable. Gracious, perfumed and light on its feet, the 2011 captures the essence of this site. Sweet tobacco, dried rose petals and crushed berries all develop in the glass. Above all else, the 2011 is a wine of perfume, silkiness and pure texture. There is so much to like here. |
