Vinous (92)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Derrière La Grange 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet, the 30% whole bunch nicely integrated, ditto the 40% new oak. This just sings from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannins and candied red fruit laced with white pepper and curry leaf, leading to a cohesive, slightly ferrous finish. This will be fascinating to revisit in bottle. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Derrière La Grange 1er Cru has a vibrant, quite peppery bouquet thanks to the whole bunch addition, well defined with freshly-tilled loam filtering through the black and red fruit. The palate is well defined with succulent tannins, slightly confit-like with figgy notes on the finish. |

Vinous (93)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is blended with 57% whole bunch (one-third of this vineyard has just been replanted). It has a lovely bouquet of black cherries, cherry liqueur, black pepper and just a touch of balsamic. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a little more austere than other Les Amoureuses that I have tasted, but leading to a precise finish. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)The 2013 Chambolle Musigny les Charmes comes through three plots just under les Fuesselots that make 1.3 hectares. It has a slightly more reserved, masculine bouquet compared to les Plantes at the moment, but there is still fine focus and delineation in situ. The palate is supple in the mouth, leaning more here to the red side of the fruit spectrum with cranberry and pomegranate, structured on the finish with an attractive grainy texture. Outstanding! |

Wine Advocate (91)The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes has a fragrant and perfumed bouquet, wilted rose petals littered over red cherry and strawberry fruit, displaying fine transparency and delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and contains plenty of energy. It is more linear than I expected -- there is a palpable strictness here -- yet there is impressive focus and structure on the finish. I would give this 2-3 years in bottle and you should have a charming Charmes. Tasted September 2016. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92-95)30% whole bunch. Ripe purple black. There is both weight and class here and it does not appear to have got too ripe which is a fear for early ripening vineyards like Charmes 2018. Actually this is delicious with a very attractive fruit weight, some tannins behind. Overall this is nicely in balance. |

Burghound (90-92)Here the wood is a bit more prominent though by no means invasive to the nicely spicy nose of mostly dark currant and poached plum nuances. The palate impression of the bigger medium-bodied flavors is surprisingly mineral-driven with fine backend energy on the dusty, compact and equally serious finale that isn't quite as complex, at least not at present. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has 38% whole bunch. It has one of the finest aromatics from the Domaine with quite precise and pure brambly red fruit, crushed stone and rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well-integrated oak, fine grip towards the finish. Give it four to five years in bottle. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru is 25% whole bunches with 30% new oak. Brambly red fruit on the nose commingle with briary and potpourri, quite attractive yet backward. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, linear and strict, yet impressive delineation with a dab of spice on the finish. Charming Charmes. |

Vinous (88-90)The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Plantes 1er Cru was a little muted compared to the other crus on the day of my visit. The palate is more expressive, with a confit-like entry and a fine bead of acidity, and quite energetic and vibrant toward the nicely focused finish. Probably one of the earlier-drinking wines from the domaine. Charming, though. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2018 Chambolle-Musignes Les Plantes 1er Cru has a cohesive, slightly minty bouquet, the 35% whole bunch quite discreet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and well-judged acidity, and quite elegant in style – more so than previous vintages – with a judicious pinch of white pepper and bay leaf toward the finish. This has plenty of character and should age well over the next 12 to 15 years. |

Vinous (89)The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village includes around 25% whole bunch this year and about 20% new oak. This has a little more cohesion than the Morey Village at the moment on the nose of dark berry fruit, almost pastille-like. The palate is medium-bodied with good grip, fine tannins and commendable delineation on the finish. Quite strict, in the style of a Morey-Village, but there is commendable vigor. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, which comes from Mazoyères, has a fragrant, peppermint-tinged bouquet that is more discreet than others I have tasted. You have to coax the aromas from their shell, touches of violet emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and finely tuned acidity. Quite dense and perhaps requiring a little more delineation and complexity to manifest on the conservative finish. It just needs to turn on the Charmes. |

Vinous (93)The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is in the Mazoyères area and might be renamed in the not-too-distant future. This has a tightly wound bouquet, the 50% whole bunch nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, layers of candied red fruit and a modicum of spice, fanning out nicely toward the finish. Very fine. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, blended with 40% whole bunch and 50% whole bunch, was showing a bit of reduction when I tasted it at the Domaine. The palate is well balanced and translates the structure of its Mazoyeres roots, perhaps for me, just a little too sweet towards the finish at the expense of some precision. I suspect this will age nicely as there is plenty of freshness, though it is overshadowed by the Clos Saint-Denis. |

Vinous (94-96)The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru includes 25% whole bunch fruit. The bouquet shows much more complexity compared with the Charmes-Chambertin: crushed limestone sprinkled over the blackberry and blueberry fruit, beautifully defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, assiduously judged acidity and a mineral-driven finish that seems to lacquer the mouth after it has departed. This is a superb Clos Saint-Denis from Amiot-Servelle that should age with panache. |
