Exuding remarkable opulence, the Beaurenard Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2020 is a paragon of Rhône Valley viticulture. This ruby-hued nectar hails from vineyards planted on the stony, sun-drenched hills of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, lavished with ample amounts of Grenache and Syrah, cultivated with respect to biodiversity and soil health. The Beaurenard family, seven generations of dedicated winemakers, age this splendid blend in large oak vats for 12-15 months, creating layers of dark fruit flavours, intertwined with notes of cocoa, spice and a delicate smoky hint—a testament to its well-orchestrated vinification process. Garnering praise for its robust body and structured tannins, the Beaurenard Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2020 finishes with a lingering earthy elegance and is a worthy indulgence for the discerning palate. A splendid accompaniment to rich meals, this wine encapsulates the magnificent tradition of the Beaurenard winery, a beacon of French winegrowing prowess. |

Wine Advocate (95)A candidate for wine of the vintage is the 2000 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Boisrenard. Subtle aromas of vanillin intermixed with blackberry, black cherry, chocolate, and espresso characteristics explode from the glass. In the mouth, there is firm tannin as well as enormous fruit, undeniable southern Rhone typicity, powerful, concentrated, thick flavors, and a finish that lasts for 45+ seconds. This is a stunning effort for Boisrenard. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020. |

Wine Advocate (97)There have been a number of spectacular vintages of Domaine de Beaurenard’s luxury cuvee, Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Boisrenard, but the 2001 may be the finest they have ever produced. An inky/purple color is accompanied by aromas of creme de cassis, melted licorice, graphite, and a touch of barrique. The explosive bouquet is followed by an expansive, full-bodied, powerful wine with great purity, tremendous multilayered flavor intensity, and beautifully integrated wood, acidity, and tannin. It possesses structure, grip, and a finish that lasts well over a minute. Despite its enormous richness and presence (aromatically and on the palate), it requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for 15-18. It is a brilliant success! |
