Château des Tours
Located in the charming village of Visan, in the southern part of the Rhône Valley, lies the renowned Château des Tours. This historic winery has been producing exceptional wines since the 15th century, showcasing the unique terroir and character of the region.
Under the guidance of esteemed winemaker Emmanuel Reynaud, who also owned the iconic Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate, Château Rayas, the estate gained prominence for its unwavering commitment to crafting wines of exceptional quality. Reynaud's dedication to organic farming practices has further solidified Château des Tours' reputation as a revered winery.
Spanning over 20 hectares (49 acres) of vineyards, the estate cultivates a variety of grape varietals that thrive in the Rhône Valley. The wines are crafted using traditional techniques with minimal intervention, showcasing the purity of the fruit and the character of the terroir.
The wines of Château des Tours are highly sought after for their elegance, finesse, and expression of the land. With a focus on organic farming and minimal intervention in the winemaking process, these wines reflect the true essence of the Rhône Valley and its exceptional terroir.

Jancis Robinson (16.5)Sweet and polished and pretty nectar-like. A bargain hint of Rayas? Very pure, sweet, just-not-jammy Grenache. Lots of fun. And no animal flavours at all. Very sweet; very transparent. GV |

Wine Advocate (93+)The sensational 2009 Vacqueyras should age as well as its 2004 counterpart, but it is a headier cuvee with relatively high alcohol (probably 15+%). It exhibits abundant notes of kirsch liqueur, licorice and raspberry in addition to a full-bodied style filled with fruit and character. Aged completely in tank, it comes across like a family member of the great Chateau Rayas. |

Vinous (93)Dried strawberry, melted licorice, white flowers and a hint of cardamom introduce the 2010 Vacqueyras Réserve, while a touch of white pepper heightens the spice. Full-bodied yet poised, the 2010 never relies solely on power or concentration, instead remaining focused, lithe and finely balanced through to the smooth, energetic finish. This bottle was opened about three hours in advance without decanting, and continued to blossom with air. Though it cannot quite match the grandeur of the 2016 tasted alongside, the 2010 is a brilliant Vacqueyras Réserve from Château des Tours, and a transparent expression of this five-star vintage. |
