Claude Dugat Bourgogne 2017 (12x75cl)

Wine Advocate (87-89)

Due to be bottled the week after I tasted it, the 2017 Bourgogne offers up pretty aromas of flowers, ripe berries and sweet soil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, satiny and charming, with more flesh on its structural bones than when I tasted it in the spring. It will be irresistible in its youth.

Claude Dugat Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru 2017 (6x75cl)

Wine Advocate (92-95)

The 2017 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is deeper pitched and more brooding than the Charmes, offering up aromas of cassis, dark chocolate, plums and rich loamy soil. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, velvety and firmer framed, with chalky structuring tannins and tangy acids, concluding with a long, sapid finish. Dugat's vines are in Les Gémeaux, adjacent to Cécile Tremblay's, a site that tends to produce somewhat more structured wines than La Chapelle.

Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 2011 (12x75cl)

Wine Advocate (90)

A blend of two lieux-dits, namely Crepilot and Perrieres, the 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru sees 50% new oak. It offers a perfumed, floral bouquet with small dark cherries, bergamot and vanilla pod that opens with aeration. The palate clearly boasts more body and backbone compared with the Village Cru. But it remains quite languid, nonchalant even, underpinned with fine tannins that are neatly folded into a sedate, sensual finish with wild strawberry and a touch of dark plum. This is very fine. Drink 2014-2020.

Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru 2016 (6x75cl)

Wine Advocate (91-93)

The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru, a blend of vines born in Les Craipillot and La Perrière, has a very fragrant bouquet that is perhaps more floral than the village cru albeit cut from a similar cloth with those red cherry, strawberry and earthy scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, mineral and tensile with energetic, slightly tart red fruit defining the persistent finish. There is a bewitching sense of harmony and composure imbued in this premier cru and it comes highly recommended.

Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Gibryotte 2015 (12x75cl)

Wine Advocate (92-94)

The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru, the usual assemblage of Les Craipillot and La Perriere, has a perfumed and quite floral nose with well-defined black fruit (blackberry with a touch of cranberry leaf), and it exudes superb tension and sense of energy. The palate is beautifully defined with crisp acidity, lively raspberry and cranberry fruit with wonderful harmony and cohesion towards the elegant finish. Class, pure class—one of the best premier cru Gevrey-Chambertins from the domaine.

Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2011 (12x75cl)

Wine Advocate (91)

The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages from Claude Dugat reveals a complex bouquet of cassis, black cherry, bitter cocoa, warm spice and subtle grilled meats—the prelude to an intense, full-bodied wine with a deep core of fruit and supple, ripe tannins, considerable incipient complexity and impressive authority through the long finish. The synergy between barrel and wine here is especially effective. Terrific stuff considering the vintage, and though this has considerable upside, it's a comparatively accessible rendition of Dugat's Gevrey village that will deliver a lot of pleasure in its youth.

Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2012 (12x75cl)

Wine Advocate (89-91)

The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes from around 15 parcels mostly from around the south of village and towards Brochon, the malo-lactics late and not finishing until July. It has a clean, pure bouquet with lifted cassis and raspberry fruit, touches of cold stone and a subtle marine influence. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, good depth and substance for a village cru. The wood shows just a little bit here, with a fine grip on the finish. Give this a year after bottling and you will have a dependable village cru.

Tasted from bottle, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is a pretty and immensely charming wine bursting with aromas of cherries, raspberries, bergamot and rose petals, with little hint of the savory complexity to come with bottle age. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, with lively acids, appealing purity of fruit and a precise finish.

Stephen Tanzer - Vinous (94-97 )

(from vines with an average age between 45 and 50 years) Saturated red-ruby. Pure, vibrant aromas of blackberry, minerals, licorice and spices show lovely perfume and lift. Not at all a fruit bomb today but this is utterly captivating wine, and the most classic pinot of the cellar, offering a texture of liquid silk with an impression of weightlessness. Wild fruits and flowers give the wine great energy and delicacy, and a sauvage element communicates a strong impression of soil. Finishes with an incredible peacock's tail of fruits, minerals and dark chocolate.

Claude Dugat La Gibryotte Gevrey-Chambertin 2016 (6x75cl)

Wine Advocate (91)

The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages is superb, unfurling in the glass with a youthful bouquet of sweet cassis, wild berries and peony that mingles with subtle hints of candied peel, grilled meat and rich forest floor. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, pure and velvety, structured around a chassis of fine-grained tannins that will demand some bottle age, underpinned by bright acids and concluding with a strikingly fragrant finish. It's a beautiful wine that exemplifies the fragrant, precise style that Bertrand Dugat and his siblings are coaxing from their family's enviable patrimony of old and meticulously farmed vines.
