Clos de l'Oratoire 1998 (6x150cl)

Stephen Tanzer - Vinous (89-92 )

Saturated purple-ruby to the rim. Very primary, somewhat inky aromas of cassis, blackberry, toffee and licorice. Sweet, dense and silky; a real burst of blackberry and licorice flavor in the mouth. Tannins are substantial but ripe and fine. Extremely long and subtle on the aftertaste. The most promising vintage yet for this wine. Some early tasters have preferred this wine to Canon La Gaffeliere, which is typically slower to evolve.

Clos de l'Oratoire 2015 (12x75cl)

James Suckling (95-96)

A depth and texture that is very unique for this estate with blackberry, stone and mineral undertones. Full and tight. Wonderful length and style. Precise.

Clos de l'Oratoire 2018 (6x75cl)

Wine Spectator (94-97)

Features seamlessly layered dark currant, fig and boysenberry fruit, infused liberally with a tobacco note and backed by a long, smoldering finish. Latent energy keeps this going. An impressive young wine.

Clos de l'Oratoire 2020 (6x75cl)

Jeb Dunnuck (93-95)

This wine seems to always deliver, and I loved the 2020 Clos De L'Oratoire. Lots of black cherries, subtle cassis, notes of lead pencil and violets, medium to full-bodied richness, and a balanced, elegant texture all make for a beautiful Saint-Emilion. It picks up more minerality with time in the glass, and its purity of fruit is top-notch. It will keep for at least two decades.
