    2008

    Cos Labory 2008 (12x75cl)

    Wine Enthusiast (90)

A dense, solid wine that's packed with ripe fruit, concentrated tannins and layers of spice, acidity and toast. This is a classic St.-Estèphe style, firm when young and likely to develop slowly and satisfyingly. Give this wine at least six years.

    Cos Labory 2012 (12x75cl)

    James Suckling (91)

Blueberry, raspberry and citrus character. Hints of hazelnut and chocolate. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Better in 2016.

    2013

    Cos Labory 2013 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Ian D'Agata (87-90)

Inky violet. Seductive spice-and floral-accented blackberry and dark plum aromas, plus a gentle hint of cured tobacco. Reasonably ripe and surprisingly plush for the vintage, with sweet dark berry flavors, gentle if youthfully chewy tannins and impressive sweetness on the moderately persistent finish. This seems built to withstand aging better than most other Bordeaux of 2013, but I'd still drink it up within ten years of its release for maximum enjoyment.

    2014

    Cos Labory 2014 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (90)

The 2014 Cos-Labory has a slightly pinched bouquet at first, gradually opening with blackberry and briary scents, just a touch of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, sappy black fruit laced with graphite and black pepper, quite harmonious with a crisp and poised, satisfying finish. Excellent, traditional Saint Estèphe and perhaps one of the best Cos-Labory I have tasted thus far. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

    2015

    Cos Labory 2015 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90)

The 2015 Cos Labory is powerful, dense and super-concentrated. Although the new oak remains prominent, the wine has really come together very nicely during its aging and is now much more harmonious than it was from barrel. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, licorice and crushed flowers are all sketched in bold tones that convey an extroverted style. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.

    2016

    Cos Labory 2016 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (90-93)

The 2016 Cos Labory is bold, racy and flamboyant. An immediate, voluptuous wine, the 2016 possesses striking density and silkiness in its red toned fruit. I imagine the 2016 will drink well right out of the gate. Even today, its balance is simply exceptional. Bright red cherry, blood orange, spice and wild flowers infuse the seductive finish. This is very nicely done.

    2017

    Cos Labory 2017 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (92)

The 2017 Cos Labory is pliant, open-knit and quite expressive. Spice, dried flowers, dried herbs, red cherry and tobacco are all finely-knit. A lovely wine, Clos Labory is just as delightful as it was en primeur. Readers can expect an attractive, mid-weight Saint-Estèphe built for near and medium-term drinking. The 2017 is nicely balanced and easy to like.
