    2014

La Croix de Gay 2014 (12x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (89)

The 2014 La Croix de Gay has a detailed bouquet with crisp blackberry and redcurrant aromas, a little orange blossom and even baking powder emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, very supple and quite rounded in the mouth with dark cherries, blueberry and a touch of iodine on the pretty finish that will have consumer appeal. This is a well-crafted Pomerol from the famille Raynaud-Lebreton.

    2016

La Fleur de Gay 2016 (12x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (94)

The 2016 La Fleur de Gay is a wine of real personality and class. Dark cherry jam, mocha, espresso, blood orange and rose petal give the 2016 an exotic quality that is hugely appealing, while beams of supporting tannin provide the framework. In the glass, the 2016 is rich, dense and remarkably vivid, all of which make it absolutely compelling. This is a fabulous showing.

    2019

La Fleur de Gay 2019 (6x75cl)

    Decanter (94)

Blackcurrant, coffee beans and toast on the nose. This is ample and so concentrated with a deep core of black fruit and liquorice. Tannic muscle but carefully integrated supporting the fruit to give a balanced frame overall. Feels sophisticated, heady and seductive. Long ageing potential.

    £300 - £360

    2021

La Fleur de Gay 2021 (6x75cl)

    Vinous - Neal Martin (88-90)

The 2021 La Fleur de Gay is much more successful than the La Croix de Gay this year, with more fruit and cohesion on the nose, for a start, while the palate is medium-bodied with fine grip. Not the most complex Pomerol this year, but there is a sense of balance and length.
