About Daniel Vollenweider
Armed with nothing more than a burning passion to run his own winery and make his own Rieslings, Vollenweider, a Swiss native, became an apprentice in the famed vineyards of Dr. Loosen before establishing his own modest estate in 1999, shrewdly picking 1.3 hectares of vineyards in Wolfer Goldgrube, a region that harboured great potential whilst remaining affordable as it drew little attention back then.
Today, Vollenweider happily owns just over four hectares of Wolfer Goldgrube, as well as parcels in Kröver Steffensberg and Trabener Würzgarten (Schimbock). To top it all off, Vollenweider also became a member of Der Klitzekleine Ring, a group of winemakers that revive derelict, steep old-vine vineyard sites in the Mosel.
