Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-90)10% new wood, about to be bottled. The Bourgogne offers a heavenly nose right from the start. All about the fruit which has a darker edge to it. The stem side gives a real tingle. Now some dark red cherries in the fruit. Salty notes at the very back. A tannin or two to finish. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted: November 2023. |

Vinous (87)The 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is noticeably deeper in color than its peers. The bouquet is quite showy and gregarious, featuring copious black cherry, liquorish and light furniture polish scents. The new oak is too forward for my own preference. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little drier and more conservative than I hoped, and there is a bitter residue on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |

Vinous (95)The 2017 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru has a more intense nose than Berthaut-Gerbet's, offering black cherry, briar, smoke and crushed stone aromas with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, plenty of black cherry and blueberry fruit, fine volume and a touch of white pepper toward the finish. This actually grows in the glass. It might be too modern in style for those seeking traditional Pinot Noir, but I love it. Proper Grand Cru. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting. |

Wine Advocate (94-96)Opening in the glass with notes of sweet plums, warm spices, raw cocoa, loamy soil and wild berries, Guyon's 2019 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with superb depth at the core, rich and powdery tannins and lively balancing acids. Long and resonant, this is a superb proposition for the long haul. This derives from an old-vine parcel just below the Château, next to Jean-Nicolas Méo's holdings. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-97)Only 30% decorticated as this was the last picked and the team had had enough – but makes an interesting contrast with the others. More purple than black in colour. Still has some rose petals which cannot be common in Clos Vougeot! Super deep with some liquorice behind where the fruit darkens, but up front and on the nose it is more dark raspberry and redcurrant. Not quite so fine tannins when not fully decorticated, it would seem. But a huge follow through. If it were not for the utter brilliance of the Echezeaux, I might score this even higher! Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-98)5 Star Wine. A rich dark purple. The nose is astonishing because of its definition. It is a slightly darker and certainly less lushly appealing style. Peppery notes are in balance but the volume of fruit surmounts. This is a fine and very noble example which could well leap ahead of the 2020 in the rankings. There is such a wealth of fruit, on the cusp of red and black, which returns in the very long finish. Bravo. Drink from 2030-2040. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93-97)Last year of his holding, which was a fermage that now belongs to the Domaine des Lambrays. Jean-Pierre has managed to replace this with two excellent sources of grapes from 2024. The 2023 has a heady purple colour. The Clos Vougeot starts in spice and some dark fruit, taking a lot longer than the Vosne 1er cru cuvées to start to show. There is a really solid deep rich concentrated fruit nonetheless with some dark cherries, and more spice to finish. A little more subdued than some, but all is there. Drink from 2030-2038. Tasted Nov 2024. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (97-100)First picked, 100% decorticated. “This is the best wine I have made in my life”. Rich noble imperial purple. All right, team, this really is it! “Tu le bois avec le nez, you drink it with your nose”. No question here. This completely works as there is not the slightest sensation of cooked fruit. No spitting. I don’t know what to say. Actually I was just formulating the words that this is the finest Echezeaux I have tasted in my life when Jean-Pierre interrupted to say that Michel Bettane thought the same! An intensely seductive lush red velvet fruit covering an entirely perfect bone structure. One of the wines of the vintage. Could be THE wine of the vintage. Tasted: November 2021 |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96-98)A full purple with a ruby pink edge. Very classy and such delicacy after the robust Clos Vougeot. Little traces of roses, a soft beautiful raft of gentle graceful red fruits, silky yet with such a tensile strength. Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (86-88)Again quite a full yellow. The nose is full of apples and the palate brings out the chiselled hillside aspect but there is still some flesh. He has kept CO2 high (1100-1200) and this assists the final crisp aftertaste. But this is not really my wine. Drink from 2024-2026. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (91-93)30% new wood, including one 400 litre barrel, which is the way Jean-Pierre will go in future for the first year, and then earthenware jars for the second elevage. A touch of liquorice. This has a much denser texture than used to be the case, and a superb fruit acid balance. Extremely impressive for village Morey blanc. A wine which will develop in time. Drink from 2026-2032. Tasted: November 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-91)All new wood, in 400 litre barrels. A fuller yellow colour, with a generous ripe yet balanced nose, not unduly heavy. A very light reductive note as well. Excellent tension on the palate, with considerable depth of fruit. Bacon fat behind, possibly a form of new oak reduction. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Nov 2024. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-92)Fullish yellow, some apples but riper here than the Coteaux Bourguignons. A little touch of oak, 25% new. This really comes into its own on the palate, still showing some oak and a bit of bacon fat but the ripe apples now give it plenty of flesh. Not mainstream but a thoroughly interesting wine. Picked a week before the reds. Drink from 2024-2027. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-91)Pinot blanc, filtered but not fined, and ready to bottle. 30% new wood and 13.46% alcohol. This is the first time this wine has hit the yield since he purchased the vineyard in 2006. The palate fills out gorgeously, while there is a fine chiselled fresh finish. Both halves of the equation work. Drink from 2026-2030. Tasted: November 2023. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-90)The crop has been made half in barrel and half in Clayvers, two x 400-litres of each. Very lifted for Pinot Gouges, excellent aromatics, lemon scented with a bit of lime behind. Just a little more weight at the back of the palate. Not super concentrated but a fine long finish with a nutty note. Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Nov 2024. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (89-92)A rich deep purple. the nose too is luxurious, with a touch of coconut as well. Totally fills the mouth but there is just a little more precision than the Chorey. The fruit and the coconut make me think of Lamingtons. As long as the coconut dies down this will be pretty impressive. Drink from 2025-2030. |
