    Il Palazzone

    About Il Palazzone

Il Palazzone is a boutique state-of-the-art Brunello producer acquired in the year 2000 by Richard Parsons, former chairman and CEO of Time Warner. In his quest for the perfect location to make wines, Richard Parsons spent a year travelling to France, South Africa, Argentina and California, looking at vineyards and tasting wines. His interest in good Italian wines took him to Tuscany, and the hunt was over. Here at Il Palazzone, Parsons, has put together 5 hectares of vineyards producing a mere 11,000 bottles of Brunello di Montalcino per year.

“Over the last fifteen years, Il Palazzone has made a name for themselves with a style of Brunello that is soft and accessible early, but without ever giving into many of the international trappings of their peers.” – Eric Guido (Vinous)

The Estate has 3 vineyards – Le Due Porte, Vigna del Capa and La Vecchia, that they blend to produce their regular Brunello. Le Due Porte was first bottled as a single vineyard bottling with the 2015 vintage, and it is the estate's highest-elevation vineyard.
