Domaine Jean Collet
About Domaine Jean Collet
Since 1792, the Collet family has been farming the vineyards of Chablis and selling their wines to local négociants. In 1952, Jean Collet took the leap and founded Domaine Jean Follet, bottling his first vintage in 1954 and earned a name for being one of the pioneers to export Chablis outside France. Today, with Romain Collet at the helm, the estate boasts 40 hectares of vines producing wines across the entire range of appellations in Chablis.

Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2021 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru takes a few swirls to get going. It offers touches of yellow fruit and jasmine, with quite aromatic notes of pressed flowers and oily resinous aromas. The palate is well balanced with a slightly viscous entry, a keen line of acidity and a creamy texture, with a touch of custard creams and orange pith on the finish. Not long but it feels nicely composed. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. |
