Kaesler

First planted in 1893, Kaesler is one of the Barossa Valley’s longest-running wineries. Their range includes some of the best examples of Australian Shiraz including the Old Vine Shiraz, the Bogan and the magnificently named and labelled ‘Old Bastard Shiraz’. The names reflect the age of their vines, many of which date back to the first vintages of the estate.

Kaesler Old Vine Shiraz 2007 (6x75cl)

James Halliday (93)

Politically correct, it is unfined and unfiltered. Its black fruits have a strong savoury component, but the tannins are ripe, the balance good; matured in Burgundain-coopered French oak (90% new).
