Kalleske
About Kalleske
The Kalleske family first settled in South Australia in 1838 after fleeing religious persecution in their homeland, Prussia. Establishing a farm in 1853 at Moppa, a small sub-district of Greenock in the North-Western Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family made a living through a range of farming enterprises, which included grape farming - they are still going strong today! In 2002, after farming grapes for 149 years, Troy Kalleske, the 7th generation of the Kalleske family, founded the Kalleske winery where he quickly gained international recognition and was awarded numerous accolades, including the title of “2008 Barossa Winemaker of the Year”.
