La Colliere

This small, 25-hectare family estate in Rasteau was founded by Georges Perrot, a protégé of André Romero of La Soumade fame. Prior to 2003 all the production went to one of the big Rhône negociants, but since then they have been bottling in house under their own label. Under the expert guidance of Rhône oenologist Philippe Cambie, La Colliere is receiving rave reviews from the press and justly so in our opinion.

Deep ruby/purple-colored with a smoking nose of blackcurrants, toasted spices, cured meats, and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a rounded, sexy texture, great acidity, and a huge finish.
