Louis-Claude Desvignes
About Louis-Claude Desvignes
The Desvignes family have been Morgon vignerons since the mid-1700s. Current proprietors Claude-Emmanuelle and her brother Louis-Benoît are the 8th generations to run this historic estate.
The estate is now famed for producing some of the finest examples of Cru Beaujolais available on the market right now and their wines are treasured by collectors for their cellar-worthy nature and ability to age. These bottles age as gracefully as top Burgundy.

Wine Advocate (95)Desvignes's 2018 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is superb, bursting from the glass with a captivating bouquet of violets, raspberries, dark chocolate and smoky blackberries. On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and layered, with a deep and multidimensional core, succulent acids and powdery tannins. Beautifully balanced and structurally refined despite its power and concentration, this is worth a special effort to seek out. |

Wine Advocate (94+)The 2020 Morgon Côte du Py Javernières is brilliant, unwinding in the glass with aromas of wild berries, spices, rose petals, loamy soil and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with impressive reserves of ripe tannin and sapid fruit, it's seamless and lively, concluding with a long, resonant finish. As ever, this is built to age, and it will reward patience, even if its youthful charms are considerable. |

Vinous (95)The 2022 Morgon Aux Pierres Javernières comes from a métayage since the 2020 vintage from vines planted in 1931. It has a very complex, mineral-driven bouquet with dark cherries, tea leaves and crushed stone, floral scents emerging with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. This is very pure in style, beautifully balanced with a satin-textured finish that is one of the most caressing you will find this vintage. Outstanding. |
