Wine Advocate (89-91)The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Chaliots has a well-defined bouquet with raspberry coulis and bergamot scents, just a hint of Earl Grey tea that emerges with time. The palate is crisp and fresh with fine-grain tannin. I appreciate the tension and energy conveyed by this Chaliots, demonstrating more precision and details than the village cru and with better persistence on the aftertaste. It will require 2 or 3 years to absorb the oak, but it should turn out well. |

Wine Spectator (92)Exhibits plenty of spicy oak, along with macerated cherry, plum and licorice. It's balanced, if sharp and peppery, and shows class, with a long finish. Needs time for all the components to come together. Best from 2012 through 2025. -BS |

Wine Advocate (89)Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. There is a little reduction to bypass on the nose, although underneath this Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Clos des Réas appears to be some attractive cranberry and blackberry/briar scents, with fine tension and nicely integrated oak. The palate is crisp, lithe and silky in the mouth, commencing in harmonious fashion, but becoming a tad hard toward the finish. I am certain that bottle age will tenderize this Vosne-Romanée, but it seems sulky at the moment. I remain optimistic that it will repay 5-6 years in the cellar. |

Vinous (87-89)The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru, Michel Gros’s monopole, was matured in 50% new oak. It has a floral bouquet of mainly black fruit with veins of blue, all infused with iris and violet. The dense palate is quite structured on the entry, showing a veneer of dark chocolate and a touch of spearmint toward the grippy finish. |

Vinous (88-90)The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru comes from the 2.12-hectare monopole of the domaine, though 0.4 hectares was pulled up two years ago for replanting. It has an attractive bouquet of well-defined black cherries, blueberry and hints of cassis and orange peel aromas. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry. There is good depth here, although I find that the Aux Brûlées has better assimilated its new oak. The finish is a tad disjointed at the moment. |

Vinous (89-91)The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru was showing some reduction on the nose (again), though the palate is well balanced with plenty of juicy red berry fruit laced with white pepper and sage. Good flesh and grip on the finish. This should age nicely in bottle. |
