    Pesquié

    About Pesquié

Château Pesquié is a family estate now run by the third generation of the family. In the capable hands of Fred and Alex Chaudière, Edith and Paul’s sons, they are one of the key leaders in the renaissance of Ventoux. Château Pesquié comprises 100 hectares of vines, these vines, spreading over the foothills of Mont Ventoux, grow on a complex mix of soil and enjoy a cooler micro-climate.

The brothers are evangelists of sustainable viticulture, they use only organic treatments in the vineyard. Weed control is done by turning over the soil, and harvesting is done by hand. With all the good elements and a very close attention-to-detail approach, it is no surprise that they are Dunnuck’s favourite estate and his “reference point” in the up-and-coming Ventoux region.

    The Vineyard

There are three main terroirs on the property: rocky limestone clay, red clay, and loamy clay. Their most common and diverse plantings are Syrah and Grenache, each chosen specifically for their soils and exposure. Thankfully, their vineyards in Ventoux enjoy a cooler micro-climate, so it guarantees a longer and slower ripening of fruit. The age of the vines ranges from 20 to well over 80 years old.

With considerable elegance on the palate, medium to full-bodied richness, and silky yet building tannins, this is straight-up classy stuff.
