Tenuta di Arceno
About Tenuta di Arceno
The breathtakingly beautiful Tenuta di Arceno can trace its winemaking history back to the 16th Century. Located in the stunning commune of Castelnuovo Berardenga within Chianti Classico, the estate was owned first by the Del Taja family and then the Piccolomini family, two of Italy’s most prominent vinous families. Eventually, the estate was purchased by the titanic Jackson Family Wines of California, adding significant financial heft to the extraordinary terroir and talented team at the ancient property.
Considerable investment has, in more ways than one no doubt, paid dividends and their flagship cuvée Arcanum is one of the region’s finest. A Cabernet Franc-based blend sourced from the estate’s L’Apparita and Belvedere blocks, the terroir of which is a magical combination of perfect sun exposure and sandy-clay terroir. Completed with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot in true Super Tuscan Bordeaux-blend style, the wine is then aged for 12 months in 80% new French oak.
