Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93)The 2019 Vray Croix de Gay comes across as quite understated and soft. An effusive, floral bouquet and silky contours add to that impression. Crushed flowers, spice, sweet tobacco, cedar and dried flowers all grace this soft, open-knit Pomerol. The 2019 is a very good wine, and yet my impression is that a good bit of potential remains unrealized |

Vinous - Antonio Galloni (93-95)Vray Croix de Gay is a powerful, brooding wine in 2020. It will be interesting to see if a measure of finesse develops with élevage. There is plenty of richness, that is for sure. Time in the glass, brings out a whole range of red-fleshed fruit, cedar, tobacco, dried flowers and mocha, are all framed by incisive, insistent tannins. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (90-92)The 2021 Vray Croix de Gay is perfumed on the nose, offering truffle-tinged red fruit and a touch of damp, loamy soil. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, taut and fresh, leading to a light, slightly attenuated finish, yet it has plenty of freshness and should gain weight in barrel. |
