5 Star Wine. A lovely bright purple, with a stunning bouquet. I want to gulp this straight way. Really classy on the palate, with a precise crisp finish. A joyous wine showing that you can make fabulous pinot at higher yields (55 hl/ha in this case) now that the grapes ripen properly. Drink from 2025-2028.

Low trained vines in the hamlet of Concoeur. Glowing purple in colour, slightly reductive on the nose, sweetly ripe raspberry and redcurrant. Just a little bit gamey at the moment. Prettier at the finish. Drink from 2025-2027. Tasted: November 2023.

A fascinating plot worked by horse and hand, as they cannot get access with the tractor. Super sensual yet with total finesse, a depth of fruit, a feeling of royalty in the quality, a little touch of quality pepper at the finish but it is evidently the vineyard speaking. Still needs to harmonise further, but this is very fine. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted: November 2023.

The medium-bodied palate has a concentrated opening, fleshy and vibrant with blood orange-infused blueberry and raspberry fruit, then quite strict and peppery towards the finish. This represents a sterling follow-up to the impressive 2021 last year.

A fine mid lemon yellow. The bouquet is extremely stylish, showing a Chevalier with depth of flavour. There is lots more to tease out. Really impressive concentration here, just a few toasty notes, an extra body that comes from this emplacement. Just the right mineral acidity behind. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: October 2023.

A rich intense purple. The bouquet has the enhanced heady qualities I associate with Malconsorts. Some peonies perhaps, then a lush but stable fruit across the palate, with a wealth behind, which does indeed cover the tannins. Persistent. This Malconsorts is a firmly constructed wine with stable tannins, also the flesh to cover them. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: November 2023.

Racked and sulphured two weeks ago. A bright deep and even purple. This is solid, rich, even concentrated with a wealth of dark cherry fruit, and good supporting tannins. Substantial and impressive. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted: December 2023.

The provenance is Aux Jachées 60%, Chalandins and a smattering of Chaumes 1er Cru, prepared for bottling. 50% whole bunch, 50% new wood. A bright and even purple. The new wood integrates very well, with an impressive depth. This is work in progress that promises very well. A good weight of fruit and a high-class finish that persists properly. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted: December 2023.

The 2022 Bourgogne Blanc has a light bouquet with apple blossom and orange pith. The well-balanced palate is taut and fresh with ample weight and a bright sapid finish. Everything you want in a white Burgundy, really.

Burghound (89-91)

(from parcels located in Croix Blanche, La Columbière, Champs Goudins and Le Pré de la Folie). A spicier and more floral-inflected nose displays fruit that is more from the red side of the spectrum. The sleeker and finer, but not denser, medium weight flavors possess notably better depth and persistence on the markedly firmer finale.

Vinous (89-91)

The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge Les Bons Batons is the Domaine's largest cuvée from 1.8 hectares of vines. It has a well-defined bouquet with bright red fruit. The medium-bodied palate has vivid red fruit and fine structure with gentle grip on the finish. Village quality here.
