Vinous (93-95)
The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc has the potential to outperform the preceding four vintages. This 2022 white stuns with hauntingly fragrant aromas of spring blossom, lime and lemon flesh, pear, white peach, quince and a tropical splash of melon. Coming in at 14% alcohol, it carries a terrific freshness, delivering juicy ripe fruits along with outstanding flavor definition. The sapid finish continues for well over a minute.Inc. VAT£553.24 -
Vinous (94-96)
Coming in at 14.5% alcohol, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc Roussanne Vieilles Vignes is shaping up to be a worthy successor to the delicious 2021 and 2020 vintages. Well-defined aromas of jasmine, honeysuckle, yellow apple, lemon and lime zest, ripe pear, quince, and verbena tea mingle with a tropical twist of melon. Full-bodied, concentrated and refined, it carries bright acidity contributing to a great sense of freshness. Only 7,000 bottles produced.Inc. VAT£483.62 -
The Wine Cellar Insider (100)
The wine of the vintage. Compelling in every sense of the word, the wine is incredibly dark in color. The aromatics kick off with an amazing display of spices, herbs, wet earth, leaf, pepper, grilled meat, black raspberry, kirsch and plum notes. The weight, density and intensity on the palate coats your taste receptors, yet retains its lush, silky texture. The seamless finish leaves the 60 second mark in its wake. This should age for decades.Inc. VAT£969.62 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92)
A glowing pale lemon yellow. There is a clear white fruit charm to this, a little more chiselled than the softly welcoming Chenevottes, with a limestone length and purity at the finish. Drink from 2027-2032. Tasted: October 2023.Inc. VAT£481.24 -
Vinous (93)
The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos de la Maltroie 1er Cru is actually more backward on the nose compared to the Village Cru, tightly coiled with mineral-driven, malic fruit. The palate is well balanced with neatly integrated oak on the entry. Fresh and saline, there’s ample grip toward the finish, with just a touch of grilled walnut and fine length. Excellent. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.Inc. VAT£481.24 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (93)
An attractive mid lemon colour. The nose is a little more backward, but the palate delivers impressive tension along with the usual complete mouthful of the purest white fruit. Tension pursues all the way through and the ripeness is perfect. This is not the most fruit forward of Chaumées I have tasted here, but has all the qualities for ageing well. Drink from 2028-2034.Inc. VAT£481.24 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (92)
Pale colour with a lime time. A fresh raw fruit energy to the nose. The white fruit expands vividly across the palate, the same light toast from the oak, but nicely integrated, this is a Chassagne with considerable charm that can be drunk early, but has a fine thread of minerality through to the back. Drink from 2026-2031.Inc. VAT£481.24 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90)
A clear pale lemon. A pretty bouquet, more floral, without the sulphur reduction of the Bourgogne Blanc. Clean and even quite chiselled, pure white fruit, just a little heat behind, and some barrel toast. However, the core fruit is very attractive and has some muscle. Fair tension behind. Drink from 2025-2028. Tasted: October 2023.Inc. VAT£686.47 -

There's a single barrel of the 2016 Châteauneuf Du Pape Not For You, which is 100% Grenache from the Les Serres lieu-dit from the oldest vines of the estate. It wasn’t destemmed and spent two years in a neutral barrel. It offers an incredible bouquet of kirsch, blackberries, incense, white flowers, garrigue and spice that develops beautifully with time in the glass. Rich, powerful, full-bodied, and concentrated, it nevertheless glides over the palate with no weight, ultra-fine tannins, and a singular, exotic, lengthy style.Inc. VAT£342.25
