Wine Advocate (95-97)The 2014 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has a detailed bouquet that stops you in your tracks. There is genuine mineraité and tension already locked in here, aromatics that are beautifully focused and almost Richebourg-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, succinctly interwoven new oak so that you barely notice its presence. It gently fans out towards the poised, tensile finish and by that time you are already won over by this outstanding Grand Cru from Dujac. |

Renowned for its full-bodied and robust character, the Lagavulin Islay Single Malt 16YO NV is an emblem of Islay’s unique distillation heritage. This single malt whisky is created on the island of Islay, Scotland; an area celebrated for its peat-rich soil, which influences a distinct smokey, iodine-laced flavour profile. Matured in oak casks for 16 years, this spirit is a testament to Lagavulin's excellence in traditional whisky-making techniques. This Bottling hosts a deep, amber gold colour, brooding with the unparalleled aroma of dry peat smoke, with a trace of maritime notes and rich, smooth malt. On the palate, it offers a balance of dried fruit sweetness harmoniously intertwining with a smoky-dryness, ending in a long, glorious finish. The Lagavulin Islay Single Malt 16YO NV is truly more than just a whisky – it's an indulgence, a privilege, a rich tapestry of peat, oak and subtle sweetness. |

Decanter (97)Softly shimmering straw gold, green tints, with a delicate filigree dancing at will around the glass. The nose is gently authoritative; spring flowers garlanding stone fruit, a hint of hawthorn maybe, then lemongrass. The palate has encyclopaedic depth, the intricacies of the Perpetual Reserve weaving their early magic; almond, sloe, gingerbread and apples; the finish has a pleasing twist of bitterness, courtesy the small percentage of oak-aged reserve wine. Maybe the dosage can come down even further, such is the engaging and subtle complexity harnessed elsewhere? |

Jeb Dunnuck (98)Sourced from 39 plots, the 2014 Champagne Cristal is 60% Pinot Noir and the remainder Chardonnay, with 32% aged in oak, and it has 7 grams per liter dosage. It is highly expressive of classic elegance and purity, revealing aromas of crushed rock, almond croissant, and perfume of citrus blossoms. The palate is hyper-refined in its mousse, with pinpoint bubbles, a subtly rounded mid-palate, an irresistible chalky texture, and energy throughout its long and floral finish. Everything about this feels perfectly tailored. Drink 2024-2044. |

Jeb Dunnuck (100)Possibly the wine of the vintage is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon which is a more elegant, seamless wine compared to the more brooding and backward 2015. Exhibiting a deep purple color and utterly heavenly notes of crème de cassis, blueberries, white flowers, and graphite, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, insane purity of fruit, ultra-fine tannin, and a finish that won’t quit. While a big, powerful wine, it’s the purity of fruit and tannin quality that sets this incredible wine at the top of the pyramid. Drink it anytime over the coming 2-3 decades. Hats off to winemaker Celia Welch! |
