Vinous - Neal Martin (94)
The 2019 Poujeaux has a very delineated, focused bouquet of blackberry, cedar, mint and light tea leaf scents, one of the most complex I have encountered from this great estate in recent years. The medium-bodied palate is fresh, vibrant and grippy, with slightly chalky tannins and a saline, persistent finish. Quite structured and broody, this Moulis deserves ample time in bottle.Inc. (12x37.5cl) 2021Vinous - Neal Martin (91-93)
The 2021 Poujeaux was impacted by the frost, so there is more Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend this year. This was picked September 30 to October 14. It is well-defined on the nose, offering brambly red berry fruit, incense and light pine cone scents; the sense of airiness here is very appealing. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and saline, with firm but fine tannins and touch of sour cherry and graphite on the precise finish. This is a very commendable Poujeaux that I suspect will age well in bottle. (13.0% alcohol)Inc. VAT£213.49 -

(6x75cl) 2020The Prieure Marzelle 2020 is a meticulously handcrafted gem of Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, which stands as an exemplary reflection of the region's prodigious viticultural prowess. This elegant wine is the proud embodiment of delicate craftsmanship and rigorous vineyard management from the acclaimed Prieure Marzelle estate.
The Prieure Marzelle 2020 portrays a superior quality blend, primarily featuring Merlot with the subtle sophistication of Cabernet Franc. The generous 2020 summer bestowed full ripeness to the grapes, thus producing a wine with a perfect balance of intensifying fruit aromas and velvety tannins, harmonised by a rejuvenating acidity.
This extraordinary vin de garde offers a fascinating palate layered with dark fruits, subtle mineral nuances, and an endearing hint of French oak. Aged meticulously in new barrels, the Prieure Marzelle 2020 promises an intricate and lingering finish, a testament to its ageing potential. Doubtlessly, the purest expression of the terroir, this wine stands as a benchmark in the realm of fine wines.

Decanter (96)
This balances the generosity of damson and cassis on one side, with elegance and freshness on the other – the hardest thing to get right in a wine. Notes of eucalyptus, liquorice and spice on the finish, this is just delicious. It showcases the succulence of the vintage, which was given a springboard by the work done at the château. The grapes were harvested over four weeks, compared to just three in 2010, which was also an exceptional vintage. However 2015 received a lot more plot-by-plot work and also produced higher yields – 42hl/h compared to 32hl/h in 2010 – giving the fruit more capacity to develop. For me this is clearly the best wine I have ever tasted from the property. Made using 50% new oak barrels.Inc. VAT£329.75 -
