Vinous (92-95)Good full medium ruby. More exotic on the nose than the Brulees, showing an aroma of blackberry liqueur. Large-scaled and fat but youthfully unevolved, with inky depths to its brooding, chocolatey flavor. A wine of compelling richness but not yet showing the personality of the Brulees. Broad, slow-mounting finish reveals surprisingly strong acidity (the pH here is a low-for-the-cellar 3.35). This is likely to require at least a decade of bottle aging. |

Vinous (92-95)Good bright red. Very locked up on the nose, hinting at red cherry, black raspberry, stone and spicy oak. Dense but very tight, showing little today in the way of fruit. Most impressive on the explosive, rising, classically dry finish, which displays pungent minerality. Meo noted that this wine was open and charming ten days ago; now it's more typical. |

Vinous (95-97)Meo's 2012 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux floats above the palate with lifted, beautiful precision. Intensity, structure and finesse all come together in a wine endowed with dazzling precision and nuance. Crushed rocks, mint and spices add dimensions of complexity to the dark red and black fruit. Today, the Cros Parantoux is firing on all cylinders. What a striking wine this is. |

Wine Advocate (94-96)The 2014 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux has a really quite wondrous nose that really shows its class. Beautifully defined, very pure, very intense dark berry fruit with a seam of mineralité underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, a fine seam of acidity, great depth and intensity on the finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a classy Cros Parantoux, maybe the standout from the domaine this year. |

Vinous (95-97)(alcohol close to 14%): Bright ruby-red. Very pure aromas of black raspberry, licorice, bitter chocolate and pungent crushed-stone minerality. Boasts alluring sweetness and sexy inner-mouth perfume, with its intense dark fruit and mineral flavors enlivened by brisk acidity. Not quite as salty as the Brûlées but still boasts terrific inner-mouth tension and energy. Still a bit youthfully tight--and less charming than the Brûlées--but not at all hard. The tannins reach the front teeth. Méo harvested this fruit later than the Brûlées, and this wine will need more bottle aging for its structure to soften. A great premier cru in the making. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (96-99)5 Star Wine. A totally even purple across the piece. The oak is present but sitting cheerfully alongside the ripe fruit. This has dimensions that the other wines have not reached. Just enough red notes mixing in with the black. Waves of flavour! A darling of mine in 2018 says Jean-Nicolas and for the first time in barrel I find this wine to be an absolute knock-out. It came in under 14% and is going to be a quite brilliant wine in the long term. |

Tim Atkin MW (97)Extremely brambly with incense, savory spice and smoked meats, this is an exotic Vosne. There is extraordinary fruit concentration that vies with the remarkably well-tamed tannins. It's the acidity that powers the structure, and it is downright mouth-watering. Three barrels – all new oak – were made in 2020. 2024-45 |

Vinous (95-97)The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1er Cru has a compelling bouquet, mainly red fruit with hints of blueberry, pressed violet and a distant tang of shucked oyster shells. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiselled, slightly chalky tannins, fresh and marine-influenced with a long saline finish. This shows the breeding of this Premier Cru, quintessential Cros Parantoux, a total victory over a difficult growing season. Divine. Two and a half barrels produced. |

Vinous (95+)Saturated bright ruby-red. Knockout nose combines black raspberry, licorice, minerals, meat and smoke. Large-scaled and impressively dense, with superb energy to the dark fruit, licorice, mineral, spice and game flavors. The explosive finish is like an avalanche over the palate, driving out everything in its wake. Substantial ripe tannins are hidden by complex finishing flavors of red fruits, smoked meat and leather. For all its soil-driven wildness, this sappy, extract-rich wine is quite pristine. Should be a monumental bottle by 2020. |

Vinous (94)Very good deep red. Black fruits, licorice, dark chocolate and sweet oak on the very ripe nose. Large-scaled and compellingly sweet, with wonderfully ripe, sappy dark berry flavors conveying a chewy impression of solidity. A very ripe 2006 whose solid tannic backbone and excellent persistence suggest that it will evolve slowly. If you can't wait to taste this, give it time in a decanter first. |

Vinous (94-97)Saturated ruby-red. Aromatic and very pure but restrained on the nose, offering high-pitched aromas of dark raspberry, black cherry, flowers, spices and minerals. Impressively concentrated and dense yet light on its feet, with its very intense flavors of dark fruits, spices and flowers enlivened by saline tension. Almost painful in the middle palate in the early going, this wine finishes with firm but suave tannins and outstanding lingering perfume. Méo did not add SO2 in the fermenter because this wine often has reduction issues. With its fruit of steel, this beauty should enjoy a long life in bottle. |

Wine Advocate (94-96)The 2018 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Brûlées is brilliant, unfurling in the glass with an exquisite bouquet of sweet red berries, cherries, orange rind, smoked duck and exotic spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and enveloping wine framed by velvety tannins and succulent acids, concluding with a long and youthfully chalky finish. From a parcel planted in the 1930s, I often think that Aux Brûlées is Méo's finest wine; and while I'd give the Cros Parantoux the edge this year, it is a superb effort. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-96)5 Star Wine. Bright purple colour, Another very striking bouquet, balanced in its richer deep raspberry register. Aux Brûlées puts on further darker notes afterwards with a touch of coffee but then the gorgeous noble fruit takes over and this is underpinned by a limestone freshness. Really fine energy to finish. Tasted: December 2021. |
