Andrew Will
Andrew Will
Founded as relatively recently as 1989 by restaurateur Chris Camarda, the picture above highlights how close to the terroir and free from ostentation the early beginnings of this increasingly legendary winery were!
Very much a passion project with no shortage of ambition behind it, the name Andrew Will is a simply combination of Camarda’s nephew Andrew and, now finally at the helm of the property which bears his name, son Will Camarda. Proving himself to be a winemaker of uncommon talent, the young Will is continuing the work of his father with diligence following the trajectory of this estate which is already, according to William Kelley (Wine Advocate), producing “some of the finest (wines) to be found in all of North America”.

Vinous (91)Bright ruby-red. High-toned, slightly porty aromas of blackberry, blueberry and licorice. At once silky and penetrating, with the superripe dark berry and violet flavors saturating the palate without leaving any impression of heaviness. This highly concentrated, long wine displays palate-saturating tannins that are serious but not dry, reaching the front teeth. |
