Dom Perignon
About Dom Pérignon
The fable of the legendary 17th-century monk who invented champagne crying that he had "tasted the stars" is a familiar one to many oenophiles across the globe. Regrettably, this story is almost certainly inaccurate - his name does, however, live on as the prestige cuvée of powerhouse Champagne Maison Moët & Chandon.
First released by the famed house in 1937, this wine represents the culmination of rigorous selection and review processes in both the vineyard and the winery. Thanks to its size and reach, Moët & Chandon has a remarkable choice of absolutely outstanding Grands and 1ers Crus from which to source the grapes for its greatest cuvée.

Both 1982 Champagnes are utterly spellbinding. It is amazing to taste these wines at 30 years of age and see that their signatures are all very much intact. Of course, the magnum format is so ideal for Champagne. The 1982 Krug Vintage is warm, toasty and totally expressive, with gorgeous exotic orange peel and white truffle overtones. This is one of my very favorite Krug vintages. Although fully mature, the 1982 is going to continue to develop at a glacial pace. The 1982 Dom Pérignon is just a little more focused and vibrant in style. Here it is the wine’s salivating minerality that really sings. It, too, is quite youthful and vibrant for its age. What a flight.Inc. VAT£2,156.03 -

A wine of real power and intensity, the 1985 Dom Pérignon Rosé is exceptionally beautiful tonight. The flavors are rich, layered and expansive. Hints of caramel and hazelnut add nuance to a core of expressive red berry fruit, but it is the wine’s textural generosity that is most impressive considering the 1985 is now thirty years old. The 1985 is not an eternal wine, but it has reached a glorious plateau of maturity. Wow!Inc. VAT£1,158.80
