The 2019 Meursault Les Charmes-Dessus 1er Cru has a slightly richer bouquet compared to Bouzereau’s other cuvées, presenting dried honey and orange pith scents plus honeysuckle and beeswax. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity. Harmonious and full of energy. Quite a phenolically driven Perrières, it has wonderful length, even if it does not quite have the clinical precision of, say, Dominique Lafon’s own Perrières. This is a little resinous on the nose, touches of beeswax and honeysuckle, needing a little coaxing from the glass.
