Quinault L'Enclos

Chateau Quinault L’Enclos is a beautiful property but surreally located next to Libourne football stadium. It was rescued from developers in 1997 by Alain Raynaud. His no expense spared attitude bought this Saint Emilion estate back up to scratch. The wine is a modern style, with supple fruit and a fresh finish.

Quinault L'Enclos 1999 (12x75cl)

Stephen Tanzer - Vinous (90-93 )

Bright ruby. Aromas of blackberry, iron, graphite and violet. Quite thick, rich and concentrated; even deeper than the '98, with no loss of suavity. Impressive intensity of flavor. Slow-mounting, very long finish features ripe, chocolatey tannins that hit the palate quite late. Seriously interesting wine. The index of polyphenols was an extremely high 107, largely due to the fact that the small crop was thoroughly ripe early and thus could be harvested before the worst of the mid-September rains.

Wine Enthusiast (94)

The wine has 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, giving a fine black-currant flavor on top of the nice acidity. It's already a delicious wine, full of great fruit and gentle tannins. The vineyard, in the Right Bank town of Libourne, is definitely raising its game.
