Tollot-Beaut
About Domaine Tollot-Beaut
Domaine Tollot-Beaut is arguably the best-known estate in Chorey-lès-Beaune; indeed the cellars sit on Rue Alexandre Tollot in the village and for many “Tollot-Beaut” and “Chorey” are practically synonymous. It is a sign of their broad appeal, excellent value and food-friendly character that these wines are seen with incredible frequency on the wine lists of Beaune’s many restaurants and brasseries.
Domaine Tollot-Beaut has always been a forward-thinking domaine, and they have been estate-bottling their wines for nearly a century now. Under the guidance of the charming Nathalie Tollot, and with assistance from cousins Olivier and Jean-Paul, quality is constantly increasing year on year, with an optical sorting machine having been introduced and the oak regime refined to give a more harmonious integration in the wines.

Vinous (89-91)
The 2020 Aloxe-Corton Les Fournières 1er Cru is ripe and juicy on the nose: strawberry and raspberry, the oak here more pronounced compared to the Les Vercots. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, saturated tannins and again, here, I find the new oak more pronounced and perhaps just detracting a little from its delineation and mineralité on the finish. Yet once that is fully subsumed, this could turn into quite a substantial Aloxe-Corton.Inc. VAT£483.89 -
Vinous (87-89)
The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Village comes from four parcels in the appellation. It has a backward nose that demands coaxing to reveal tertiary, almost gravelly scents entwined with the black fruit. The medium-bodied palate offers sweet, supple tannins. Elegant for an Aloxe-Corton, with a harmonious, lightly spiced finish. Enjoy over the next decade.Inc. VAT£551.09 -

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (87-88)
Medium to light crimson. A beautiful pure pinot fruit. Really classy on the palate, with the domaine’s signature oak at the back. Perfect acid balance. Looking forward to seeing this in bottle. Drink from 2024-2026. Tasted: October 2022Inc. VAT£284.69
