Wine Advocate (93)The 2012 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru comes from 0.42 hectares of 50-year-old vines. This is another exemplary expression of this vineyard with a more sensual bouquet than the Charmes-Chambertin: perfumed raspberry and fresh strawberries billowing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied, very well poised and sporting well-judged acidity. There is a natural, refined composure to this Mazis-Chambertin, which does not short-change you in fruit intensity on the rounded, velvety finish. This is probably the best wine I have tasted from this domaine. |

Wine Advocate (92)The 2013 Mazis Chambertin Grand Cru was bottled in December and aged in 100% new oak. Even though there is more new wood than the Charmes, here on the Mazis I find superior integration and it is in sync with the fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm but supple tannin, good body and density but with sufficient elegance on the finish. This is a broad-shouldered Mazis-Chambertin that should reward cellaring. |

The Tortochot Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016, a masterpiece by the illustrious domaine Tortochot, is a model of finesse and elegance. As one of the great wines of Burgundy, this red wine hails from the prestigious Mazis-Chambertin appellation. Its masterful blend of power and sophistication is a testament to the distinctive terroir of this region and the careful vaunting of century-old winemaking traditions. Adhering to organic principles, the winery nurtures the vines to ultimate majesty, capturing the precise balance of ripe, intensely flavoured Pinot Noir grapes. The result is a robust yet smooth wine - a dance of ripe red fruits, forest floor notes and harmonising tannic structure. Its remarkable persistence on the palate reinforces its majestic stature as a Grand Cru. Savour this wine's evolution, as its rich sensory profile unfolds to an exquisite finale. The Tortochot Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016 is indeed a grand orchestra of viticulture excellence. |

Vinous (90)The 2017 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a rather backward and introverted bouquet offering boysenberry fruit and a touch of India ink. The palate is balanced with fine tannin and well-judged acidity. It just misses a degree of complexity and mineralité, making the finish pleasant but not memorable or profound. |

Vinous (91)The 2018 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a high-toned, showy bouquet with red plum, raspberry coulis and orange rind scents, a touch of Indian ink emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, a fine bead of acidity with a muscular finish that will hopefully muster more finesse with time. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2020 Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet with brambly red fruit, black truffle and light pencil shaving scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, fine depth, a little firm and peppery towards the finish, but this shows much better delineation than Tortochot’s Premier Crus. |
