Vinous - Neal Martin (96)The 2008 Latour has a more bold and concentrated bouquet compared to the Lafite-Rothschild, scents of blackberry, bilberry, iris, cigar humidor and cold wet stone that all surge from the glass. Vinous (95+)Bright, deep red. Slightly reduced but already remarkably nuanced nose combines strawberry, raspberry, musky game, truffley underbrush and dried flowers. Silky and fat on entry, then builds on the back half, gaining in fullness, energy and power. Peppery, earthy spices add complexity to the savory, very long finish, which has the tannic clout to require 10 to 15 years of patience. Should be another in a growing collection of great Clos de la Roche bottlings from this domain. |

Wine Enthusiast (97)A marvelously intense wine, the Chardonnay singing with light toast and acidity. The wine has layers of green apple, spice, a tight texture and orange zest highlights. Age for at least seven years. |

Wine & Spirit Magazine (93)This wine?s fresh scents of pear blossom bring to mind an orchard in spring. The flavors are full and rich, the sweetness of the wine balanced by gentle, persistent acidity. It feels silken, the texture buffed with lime and limestone. Clean and complete, this should reach its best five or six years from the vintage. |

Wine Enthusiast (95)94-96 Barrel sample. A beautiful wine, with its fresh wood, lively blackcurrant juice flavors, and subtle tannins. It has a lift and liveliness to it, which sits easily over the firm structure. |

Vinous (89)Good deep, bright red. Wild, slightly reduced aromas of dark cherry, spices, smoke and game. Round, supple and sweet, with an almost liqueur-like quality to its red fruit flavors. Benefits from a firming edge of acidity, and enticing notes of minerals, spices and herbs. Lovely village wine. |

Vinous (90+)Medium red. Wild, smoky, soil-driven aromas of black cherry, mocha, spices, pepper and flowers. Juicy and tightly wound, with lovely energy and minerality to the flavors of dark cherry, mint and pepper. Very suave wine, finishing with firm but smooth tannins and excellent length. |
