  • Escarpment Kupe Pinot Noir 2018 (6x75cl)

    The Real Review (96)

Deepish, bright, youthful red/purple colour, with a lovely fragrant bouquet of red and dark cherries, strawberry and rose petals. It's complex and foresty too, but shows more primary fruit and perfume than usual for a young Escarpment pinot. Dried flowers, dried herb, savoury underbrush aromas. Very complex and profound in the mouth, with a very long carry. The tannins are in excellent harmony. An outstanding vintage for this vineyard. (70% whole-bunches)

  • Escarpment Kupe Pinot Noir 2019 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (95)

The full-bodied, rich 2019 Kupe Pinot Noir is a lovely example of how size doesn't have to mean a loss of elegance. Bold black cherry and plum flavors combine with nuances of cola spice and mocha to yield ample complexity, while the palate is plush and velvety, seamlessly extending through a lingering finish. While delicious now, I expect it will drink well for more than a decade.

    Vinous (92)

The 2020 Pinot Noir Bannockburn is welcoming as well as rich, savory and sinewy, delivering a plump cloud of both lifted and brooding fruit: a portion of whole-cluster fermentation has brought herbal and violet high notes alongside red and black cherry. There's excellent concentration despite this being the entry to the Felton Pinot range, and fine, lightly furry tannins on the medium-long finish. Sourced from sites across the region, it is fermented using wild yeasts in old French oak barriques where it rests on lees for six months. Roger Jones: Stylish balance of fruit to herbaceous notes, multi-layered with a crunchy texture, mellow yellow summer field flowers. The elegance at the end is quite remarkable. Freddy Bulmer: Attractive and clean on the nose, plenty of primary fruit but also a nice amount of savoury character from the oak. Well balanced and really quite a serious wine. • Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese 2020 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (96)

The 2020 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese is discreet and remarkably coolish on the dense and lemon-scented nose compared to Zeltingen and Bernkastel. White peach and nectarine aromas intertwined with coolish broken slate aromas make this a savory and irresistible Auslese, even though, or exactly because of it, this is so discreet and only subversively erotic on the nose. The palate then reveals stunning lightness and finesse based on a filigreed structure and highly refined and zesty acidity. This is almost weightless, but it has a sweet core that materializes the fruit, whereas in the transcendental Zeltinger Sonnenuhr, it's more of an idea. 7% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Wine Advocate (92)

Lemon, pineapple, and blackcurrant site-typically scent the Prum 2010 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spatlese and are then projected onto a palate underlain with wet stone. A faintly smoky, prickly aura of reduction doesn’t preclude one relishing this wine’s effusive, delectable juiciness. Indeed, like the bit of CO2 Spritz that typically characterizes Prum Rieslings, it somehow enhances the wines appealingly invigorating nervous energy. Salt and stone seem to be thoroughly deposited in a tongue-quivering finish. Expect this to – again in estate-typical fashion – reward 20-30 years’ bottle maturation.

  • Greywacke Wild Sauvignon 2021 (12x75cl)

    Decanter (97)

The flagship wine from renowned winemaker Kevin Judd, who founded this winery with wife Kimberley in 2009 after 25 years at Cloudy Bay. Cat Lomax: Expressive, punchy nose. Great concentration, tonnes of luscious Sauvignon fruit supported by very smart use of oak. Tastes like pricey white Bordeaux. Delicious.

  • Hofgut Falkenstein Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Spatlese 2019 (6x75cl)

Indulge in the true sensation of the Saar vineyards with the Hofgut Falkenstein Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Spatlese 2019. Cultivated on steep, south-facing slopes in Germany's renowned Mosel region, this is a creation of father-son duo, Erich and Johannes Weber of the esteemed Hofgut Falkenstein estate. Esteemed for nurturing a vein of old vines, they employ traditional viticulture methods, paired with low-yielding, hand harvested fruit.

The meticulous winemaking processes involve cool fermentations in ancient, large wooden casks, yielding the vivacious, attention-grabbing Riesling. The wine shimmers in the glass releasing complex notes of green apple, citrus zest, and white florals with an intriguing slate-like minerality. The 2019 vintage, whilst deeply fragrant and rich, maintains a fresh and vibrant character balanced with an elegant sweetness. Truly, the Hofgut Falkenstein Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Spatlese 2019 encapsulates the quintessential, exhilarating expression of Saar Riesling. Salute to a wine that dances on the palate, leaving a lasting, compelling aftertaste.

  • Joh.

Tasted at the domaine from AP 19 21 in July 2022.

  • Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel 2019 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (96+)

The 2019 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese (Gold Capsule) offers a concentrated and spicy bouquet with notes of tea and lemon chutney. Round and refined on the palate, this is a highly elegant and salty-piquant Auslese with delicate grip and very fine concentration. It tastes concentrated but not that sweet and enormously piquant and salty. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.

  • Joh. Jos. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spatlese 2010 (6x75cl)
