Vinous - Neal Martin (91)The 2010 Acte 2 is a step up from the debut on the nose, demonstrating more cohesion and harmony, raspberry and light blueberry scents and the oak better integrated than the Acte 1. There is a subtle mintiness that surfaces with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and well judged acidity. Notes of mulberry and peppermint, plenty of dark berry fruit with a fresh and cohesive finish, this completes a fine Acte that should give another decade of drinking pleasure. Excellent. Tasted at the Acte vertical in London. |

Jeb Dunnuck (95)The 2018 Les Perrières de Lafleur comes from a massal selection of vines from Château Lafleur planted on the clay and limestone soils in Fronsac. Based on 51% Cabernet Franc and 49% Merlot aged 15 months in one-third new French oak, it has a stately, regal style offering medium to full-bodied richness, notes of blackcurrant, black cherries, graphite, chalky minerality, white truffle, and violets, a broad, expansive mouthfeel, and building tannins. It shares a similar elegance and seamlessness with its Pomerol counterpoint, yet the high percentage of Cabernet Franc and different terroir give it a style all its own. It's a beautiful wine that needs 2-4 years of bottle age and will evolve for 15+ years. As I wrote after tasting it from barrel, if you find a bottle, you should buy it! |

The Villa Bucci Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva 2017 is a prestigious white wine hailing from Italy's splendid Le Marche region. Produced by the famed Ampelio Bucci, this Riserva radiates complex elegance. Grapes are harvested manually from 50-year-old vines across the Villa Bucci estate, giving this wine superior texture and depth. With its fermentation in steel vats and two-year aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, it unfurls distinctive mineral and almond nuances, with delightful peach and apple aromas. The Villa Bucci Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva 2017 is a wine that brims with longevity, displaying an intense straw-yellow colour, yet presenting a fresh and zesty palate. With an outstanding stature in the International Wine Community, it is exemplary of the Verdicchio grape's versatility and the producer's commitment to organic farming. Savour this Italian masterpiece alone or alongside seafood for an unrivalled gastronomic experience. |
