Wine Advocate (92-94)
Aromas of waxy citrus rind, marzipan, white flowers and warm pastry introduce the 2018 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot), a full-bodied, ample and enveloping wine that's layered, textural and lively, concluding with a nicely defined finish.Inc. VAT£3,497.09 -
Burghound (93-96)
Don't Miss! An overtly floral-suffused nose features notes of lilac, carnation and acacia blossom that are trimmed in spice, citrus rind and soft wood wisps. The strikingly pure and beautifully defined larger-bodied flavors are not super-dense but I very much like the texture, all wrapped in a clean, bone-dry and compact finish that flashes plenty of focused power. This could also use a bit more depth but that shouldn't be an issue. As an aside, for those readers who were Sauzet fans 25-ish years ago, the '21 Bâtard reminds me quite a bit of the 1993, which is one of Sauzet's all-time great vintages.Inc. VAT£2,951.54 -
A jewel amongst French wines, Montus Madiran La Tyre 2011 is a distinguished product of the Château Montus estate, located in the heart of the Madiran Appellation in South West France. Meticulously produced by the deft hand of legendary vigneron Alain Brumont, who has championed redefining Madiran wines for over three decades, the La Tyre 2011 is a varietal enigma in Tannat - a grape indigenous to the region.
Fermented and matured in new French oak barrels, this cherished vintage boasts an opulent palate with flavours of ripe dark fruit, leather and nuances of warm spices, elegantly rounded off by a strong, lingering finish. Its impressively complex structure testifies to its impressive ageing potential. With its richly concentrated tannins and vibrancy, the Montus Madiran La Tyre 2011 is a crowning testament to Brumont's winemaking prowess and is sure to please even the most discerning of fine wine connoisseurs.

Behold the epitome of grandeur, the Montus Madiran La Tyre 2014 - a consummate embodiment of delectable elegance. This stunning single-varietal Tannat is the jewel in the crown of Domaine Montus, a leading pioneer in Madiran, South West France.
Masterfully cultivated on the steep, south-facing slopes of Pyrenean gravel, this wine exudes a compelling complexity, courtesy of its extended ageing in 100% new oak barriques.
The Montus Madiran La Tyre 2014 showcases an intense bouquet of ripe berries, intricately interwoven with hints of exotic spices, dark chocolate, and a delightfully refined touch of vanilla, culminating in a profoundly lingering finish. The majestic power of this vintage is artfully balanced by its elegant tannins and vibrant acidity, making it an exquisite testament to the producer's dedication to excellence.
As you savour each sip, allow your palate to be enlivened by the passion and finesse that underpins every drop of Montus Madiran La Tyre 2014.

Burghound (94)
Hints of mineral reduction and matchstick character suffuse the elegant aromas of honeysuckle, acacia blossom and spiced pear that are trimmed in wisps of wood and lemon rind. The super-sleek, intense and nicely detailed flavors possess good richness on the citrusy and beautifully long finale where moderate warmth slowly emerges. This elegant effort is perhaps a bit bolder and powerful than is usually the case and a BBM that should age gracefully over the next decade.Inc. VAT£5,353.24
