The Bereche et Fils Mailly 2013 is an authentic example of classic French Vinous imaging; a winning testament to the sovereign artistry of the Bereche family's Champagne craft. Primarily composed of Pinot Noir, harvested in the distinct terroir of Montagne de Reims, this vintage showcases the rich biodiversity inherited from organic and biodynamic farming. It epitomises the idiosyncratic nature of the premium, small-production Champagne created by brothers, Raphael and Vincent Bereche. With farming history dating back to the 18th century, Bereche et Fils employs traditional methods, each grape harvested by hand, followed by the second fermentation under cork rather than crown cap, adding an exemplary complexity to the blend. Expect robust aromas of red fruits, toasted nuts and delicate spices, cocooned in a titillating freshness, balanced acidity and fine mineral qualities on the palate. Let the Bereche et Fils Mailly 2013 grace your cellar; a deep, elegant Champagne savouring the timeless truth of its craftsmanship.

Wine Advocate (90-92)
The 2019 Chorey-lès-Beaune Les Bons Ores is shaping up very nicely, unfurling with aromas of raspberries, sweet berries and plums complemented by hints of rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's fleshy and charming, with fine depth at the core and a seamless, elegant profile. I can't think of many wines from this appellation operating at this level.Inc. VAT£379.24 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (88-91)
Last to be picked, with plenty of rot to sort out. A deeper purple than the Bourgogne. Marvellous density of deep raspberry fruit. Generous and very pure, with some black raspberry fruit, luscious more than precise but a wine it will be easy to fall in love with. Drink from 2024-2027.Inc. VAT£375.89 -
Jancis Robinson (16.5)
Earthy nose. Then sweet, charming fruit. Really, what’s not to like if you’re prepared to buy an unfashionable appellation?Inc. VAT£300.04 -
Vinous (87-89)
The 2019 Chorey-lès-Beaune Pièce du Chapitre offers brambly black fruit on the nose, tinged with iodine and violet. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, showing more cohesion than the regular Village cru, and a savory finish.Inc. VAT£330.04
