Savour the majestic allure of the Roblet-Monnot Volnay 1er Cru St Francois 2019, a poised, distinguished Burgundian wine that emanates finesse. This ethereal French pinot noir, meticulously crafted by the acclaimed producer Roblet-Monnot, tells a rich tale of its Volnay terroir. The superior 1er Cru St Francois vines bestow enchanting aromas of red berries combined with woodland hints and subtle earthy undertones; a captivating testament to the winemaker's artisan touch. Handled with utmost sensitivity during extraction, the Roblet-Monnot Volnay 1er Cru St Francois 2019 undergoes non-intrusive vinification in French oak barrels, infusing elegant tannins, and yielding a velvety mouthfeel, with a lingering silky finish. Sourced from biodynamically farmed vineyards in the renowned Cote de Beaune, this 2019 vintage embodies the epitome of sustainable winemaking, transporting you to the idyllic Burgundy slopes. Marvel at the beauty of this refined, well-structured wine, where earth meets elegance. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)An 80-20 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre, the 2018 Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu Vieilles Vignes features lovely scents of garrigue layered over ripe black cherry fruit. It lacks the extra depth of the estate's Gigondas but remains impressive, being full-bodied, silky and already easy to drink, with a long, slightly briny finish. |

Wine Advocate (90-92)An 80-20 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre, the 2019 Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu Vieilles Vignes is an excellent option for consumers who don't want to spend the extra money for the Saurel family's Gigondas bottlings. The garrigue on the nose is a bit more subtle than normal this year, with the bulk of the aromatics being super ripe cherries and berries. Full-bodied and intense, with a helping of firm tannins that keep the jamminess in check, it finishes dusty and savory, with ample length. This is a big wine, yet one I suspect will mature relatively quickly; drink it over the next 5-6 years. |

Burghound (91-93)This is also elegant, perfumed and very floral with its pretty blend of red currant, cherry, anise and violet-scented nose. There is lovely tension and minerality suffusing the rich, focused and surprisingly powerful flavors that brim with dry extract on the beautifully long, firm and youthfully austere finish. This is excellent and easily the best of the Tawse wines from the Côte de Beaune. Very much worth considering. (91-93)/2031+ |
